I started photographing this family with their first baby, Sullivan. I was able to capture several milestones for them and then they were expecting another. They are one of the sweetest and most patient families I have ever known. I must say I'm lucky to have many clients like that. The sessions go better when the adults are calm. Kids can sense stress.
When I got to their home, big brother greeted me with smiles, and I knew right away that this was going to go just as well as all of his other sessions. He was gentle with his baby sister and very interested in her. I don't see that often with toddlers.
We started with photos of the family cuddled up on the couch. Then, I moved mom and baby up to the nursery for a few shots in there. Mom requested flowers to be incorporated into the session which I loved! Even though I have a lot of fake flowers as part of my prop collection, I don't end up using them often. During the shot with the flowers, mom had mentioned that it reminded her of her wedding bouquet. It was then that I got an idea. I asked her if she happened to have her wedding dress available to use and she said yes! That's another thing I love about in home sessions. I can incorporate meaningful items that we may not have thought about before.
Overall, everything turned out great during Quincy's newborn photo session. I hope to continue to watch this family grow!
